QA/QC WELDING INSPECTOR
(Contract period: July 2014 to Jun 2015)
Job Description:
- Review and comment on ITPs, Project Procedures and Technical Specifications as and when required.
- Performs routine surveillance of assigned areas and disciplines to ensure compliance with approved WPS and all applicable codes, standards, specifications and drawings.
- Regular and timely response to contractor raised RFIs to witness and verify technical inspections and materials testing as required by ITPs and AFC Drawings.
- Witness Welding Procedure Qualification testing and Welder Qualification testing and review WPS/PQR per relevant Project specification and code.
- Review radiograph films and all relevant NDT reports (including PWHT review) as per applicable ITPs.
- Witness pressure testing (hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, leak testing etc)of piping spools, valves and etc. at workshop and piping system at site.
- Regularly attend QA/QC Weekly Meeting with contractor and contribute toresolution of quality issues that occurred within a week.
- Closely cooperate with Construction Manager /HSE departments in order toensure work is being performed in a safe manner and within stipulated time by promoting pro-active approach.
- Establishes and supports proactive and collaborative working relationships with EPC contractor.
- To also assist in Quantity surveying works and issuance of vouchers. Developing material takes off and bill of materials.
- Any other works assigned by Construction Manager
Requirements:
- At least a diploma in engineering.
- Minimum five (5) years experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control inthe oil and gas/shipyard industry.
- A welding inspector qualification (ASNT, CSWIP or equivalent) in NDT techniques will be viewed favorably.
- Good written and oral Bahasa and English language skills.
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member under project schedule pressures.
- Good knowledge in International Codes and Standards (ASME, AWS, ASTM, API, etc).
