Responsibilities:
Objectives
Assist the Planning Manager preparation of various programmes and schedules during Tender Stage and work preparation stage, and assist the Planning Departments job sites, as and when advised by the Planning Manager.
Key responsibilities and tasks (focussed on result areas)
General:
- Expertise holder planning software: act as ‘owner’ of the planning and/or monitoring software.
- Recruits, assigns, support, coaches and assess planning staff.
Tendering and Estimating:
- Prepare 1st and 2nd level tender programmes and/or resource charts, in accordance with tender requirements.
- Prepare initial work break down, and logical zoning, numbering, classification of the job.
- Review contractual requirements, milestones end limitations / risks and advise tender manager / estimator accordingly
- Check for ‘what-if’ scenarios, value engineering and/or smarter programming providing competitive advantages.
Work Preparation and Execution:
- Assure timely submittal of a ‘smart’ and compliant Clause 14 programs
- Assure necessary resource schedules are being prepared
- Assure necessary monitoring / progress schedules and charts are prepared and maintained (e.g. submittal logs, S-curves, etc.), in as much as possible standard (company) formats.
- Assist and Coach Project Planning Departments and Project Managers
- Assure implementation of Daily, Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports and assure progress is reported and key indicators are measured. Review Weekly and Monthly Reports received from site and maintain summary.
- Assure delays and impacts are recorded and notified, while maintaining proper records and liaise and inform commercial staff as required.
